a little xmas spirit ...

so, yesterday was a good day. It was my first day off in about two weeks ... and I got some stuff done. I cleaned, made dinner and got out the christmas decorations. Kristin, Colby, Corey, and Jazz were home for dinner. Charlie and I made Beef Stroganoff, and it was yummy. Corey, Jazz and I set up the tree, and reshaped it. Kristin and I decorated the tree, we even went to Shopko and bought some new xmas balls and squilly things for the tree. It looks awesome ! Charlie set out the nativity scene, he loved the baby Jesus (?), he set it out on the bakers rack by the front door, and he wrapped it with white lights. It looks very nice. I set out my snowman collection, they are scattered everywhere. I have been having a little trouble gettin into the spirit, so yesterday really helped. Felt good to get some stuff done, and spend the day with my family. There are so many bad things are going on around me, I know three people with Cancer right now, and people that are losing their homes and jobs. I dont have any trouble remembering how fortunate I am. I have a good job, my kids are happy and healthy, I have an amazing person in my life and my bills are paid, (well sorta) think maybe I am having trouble getting into the spirit because I feel a little guilty.
Well its Monday, back to the grind. I will try to post some pictures soon, but sister (aka Kristin) has my camera. more later, Sherri

Hello,
this is my first blog... so welcome to the Hickman Family blog. I was encouraged to start a page by a co-worker, so I hope I can live up to the "blog stalkers" expectations.
So it is almost Christmas, and I am struggling to get into the spirit. I have handed out xmas cards at work, and have intentions of mailing some to my family in Georgia, and other places far away. I also hope to get a picture of my kids worthy of a Christmas card. (?) But if you know anything about my kids, it will most likely be some goofy picture with one of them throwing a peace sign....
ok, so update on the fam! Kristin is 21 yrs old and started attending Cosmetology school 40 hours a week in Sept. She recently participated in a make up artist contest and took 2nd place out of 5 schools. Way to go Sister! She also works part-time as a server at Flat Bread Community Oven, and has been there for over a year. She works hard and I am very proud of her. She amazes me every day! And for those of you that don't know, Kristin retired this year from Gymnastics, after 11 years and making all the way to the Nationals Meet in St Louis, Mo. She continues to keep in shape by working out at the gym, and keep herself close to the sport by choreographing floor and beam routines for her former teammates.
Corey is a Sophomore at Timberline High School. He spends most of his time hangin with friends, his girlfriend, and playing Xbox live. He is a good kid, and does "most' of what I tell him.
ok, so now me... I am still working at Alaska Air for almost 8 yrs. I am a Lead Agent and my job is to answer questions, assist agent with finding information and talk to passengers when they are upset or have issues with service failures etc. (that is code for irate passengers) I am sure you have heard by now, but Ross and I ended our eight year relationship. But, we are still very good friends. For the past year, I have been seeing Charlie. We have a very good relationship and have alot of fun. He makes me very happy. ")
ok, so that is all for tonight, I will try to post some pictures on here to make it interesting. If you are reading this maybe you should start a blog yourself. until next time ... Sherri
